TV Today: CBS Bows Big Brother 24 and The Challenge: USA, Psychic Comedy Maggie Hits Hulu

23 years in, the introduction of a new set of big brother housemates have become as much an annual rite of summer as fireworks on the Fourth of July. Big Brother 24 kicks off tonight with a special 90-minute episode.

Also premiering on CBS tonight is The Challenge: USAa new iteration of the long-running MTV reality competition, this time featuring cast members from past seasons of Big Brother Survivor and other CBS reality series.

Plus: Rebecca Rittenhouse headlines Hulu rom-com Maggie, Married at First Sight welcomes a new batch of couples as it kicks off its 15th season, and Netflix adds to its YA library with Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Wednesday:

Big Brother: Season 24 premiere. Julie Chen Moonves welcomes a new group of houseguests as they settle in for a season of scheming, backstabbing, and drama in a special 90 minute premiere. New episodes air Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday through late September. Watch preview. 8:00 PM ET on CBS

The Challenge: USA: Series premiere (special time). Cast members from four CBS reality shows — Love Island, survivor, La carrera asombrozaand big brother — compete in extreme challenges to avoid elimination in a new iteration of MTV’s long-running series. The winner will compete against champions of international versions set in Australia, Argentina, and the UK in upcoming Paramount+ series The Challenge: Global Championship. Maggie: Complete first season. As a psychic, young, single Maggie (Rebecca Rittenhouse) regularly sees the future of her friends, parents, and clients, but when she begins to see glimpses of her own destiny after meeting an unexpected stranger, her life becomes even more complicated . Married at First Sight: Season 15 premiere. Have new singles from San Diego, California meet at the altar. The new season of Lifetime’s hit relationship experiment kicks off with a three-hour premiere, followed by a behind-the-scenes afterparty hosted by Keshia Knight Pulliam. Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between: Original movie. After making a pact to break up before college, Clare (Talia Ryder) and Aidan (Jordan Fisher) spend their last evening as a couple on one final epic date. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

Girl in the Picture: Original documentary. DirectorSkye Borgman (Abducted in Plain Sight) investigates the mysterious death of Sharon Marshall, which blew open a decades-long mystery about her true identity and the murderous fugitive at the center of the scheme. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

Crank Yankers: Season 7 premiere. Tiffany Haddish, Desus & Mero, and Jimmy Kimmel join the puppets of Yankerville as they crank call real people. The comedy’s seventh season kicks off with two half-hour episodes. 8:00 PM ET on Comedy Central

Road Wars: Docuseries premiere. With road rage surging on America’s roads, A&E’s latest reality docuseries looks at various instances of extreme human behavior, wild weather, and welcomed instances of kindness that saved lives. 10:30 PM ET on A&E

Z-control: Complete Season 3 (series finale). 15 months after Susana’s (Thanya Lopez) accidental death, the group is about to graduate, but when the secret account reactivates and threatens their future, Sofía (Ana Valeria Becerril) must find out who’s behind it before it’s too late. Mysteries Decoded: Season 2 premiere. The Green Planet: Premiere series. Sir David Attenborough highlights Earth’s biodiversity through the fascinating story of plants in this five-part series produced in partnership with the BBC.
